A teaching portfolio separated by classes or workshops that I taught from 2010 - 2019 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Media includes drawing, collage, conceptual art, performance, installation, photography, video and sculpture.
The students include children, teens, college and adult students at public and private institutions throughout the city.  The emphasis when I teach is to create an open space for creativity and playfulness that is anchored in some over-arching concept or aim.  This can be how to create tools to make experimental marks; designing characters out of collage for an encyclopedia; working collaboratively on a site-specific installation; or following prompts that lead the artist to new understandings of what art is and can be.  Ideas are given time, consideration, and respect through an intuitive and experimental approach to material and process.  It is a place where the plan should only be to follow curiosity, experience wonder, and make work by examining the parts of yourself and the world around you that you typically cannot see.
