Slate Variations I - X  is a new body of work (in process/progress right now) that seeks a deeper investigation into the material of slate with ten distinct pieces as photographs, videos, and sculptural pieces.  Since 2014 I have been working with slate, and find it to be extremely engaging and beautiful in its fragility and strength.  In Slate Variations I, I am writing my name in water only to watch it quickly disappear.  This functions as a mirror of how I understand my own name and thus my identity: as a flux space that represents a space of instability, questioning, and transformation.
