Jasmine and I are collaborating in the studio as a dancer interested in visual art and a visual artist interested in dance. This is a mash up. We are returning to motifs developed during my series 'Pittsburgh Performance Actions', when we first began to work together, but expanding and creating new characters and ideas to emerge from our exploration. The character being developed will become one of the main, central characters in an upcoming long-form cinematic video piece, for release in spring 2016 with a world debut in Pittsburgh, PA at Pittsburgh Filmmakers Melwood Theater. I will be creating these character studies with artists and performers that are interested in working with me. Please send a note if that is you. There are many possible roles I need to fill. The work is funded by the Heinz Endowment and the Pittsburgh Foundation, under the Investing in Professional Artist Residency Grant, 2015. The residency is with Pittsburgh Filmmakers. The work is still untitled, so stay tuned and more is coming. If we are alive together in extraordinary times, why would we not make extraordinary work together?

(Character Studies)
Photographs, Video and Choreography
Jasmine and I began working together in Spring 2015 as two artists who wanted to see where our practices intersected. She came as a dancer and I came as a visual artist - and we started our work in my studio. We continued working together and our most recent work is the finished film THE ELEVATOR, for the Wild Clarity series. I hope to always have the opportunity to work with Jasmine, she is an absolutely amazing artist!
This initial collaborative work we did together was generously funded by the Investing in Professional Artists Residency Grant, a joint partnership of the Heinz Endowments and the Pittsburgh Foundation.
